Estate Sun Grown (ESG)

The release of »Estate Sun Grown«, or »ESG« for short, marked Ashton’s 20th anniversary in 2005. In the years to follow, the line has been expanded to a total of five formats.

The cigars are made with an extremely rare wrapper, sourced from Chateau de la Fuente, home of the »Fuente Fuente OpusX«. The shaded fields of the chateau, near the small town of El Caribe, Dominican Republic, produce reddish-brown, supple, and oily wrappers that were once exclusively reserved for »Fuente Fuente OpusX« cigars. No other cigar has ever been granted this honor. Due to the ultra-rare wrapper, ESGs are produced in limited quantities.

The supple wrapper encases a filler of unexpected strength, which is why Robert Levin affectionately calls the »ESG« the »Velvet Hammer«. Intense aromas of cedarwood, cocoa, black pepper, and rich spices deliver a considerable kick.
